Deborah Lauesen
In her early teens, Deborah developed her skills in leather tooling. An additional interest in Theatre Makeup was the prelude to her developing her own style combining her leather craft to theatrical masks. The unique format opened doors into a variety of art shows and galleries.
While living on Rice Lake, the aboriginal influence directed Deborah to create Aboriginal masks, sculptures and tapestries from leather. The Muskokas welcomed her attendance to their Art Shows and Galleries where she had studios in Huntsville and Port Perry.
The face has a keen interest for Deborah as she translates its three-dimensional qualities into portrait painting in oil, acrylic and pastel.
Her memberships in the Cobourg Art Club, the Pine Ridge Art Association, and the Cobourg Community Centre (Camera Club) keep Deborah constantly upgrading her techniques in composition. These clubs have displays and shows throughout Cobourg for public viewings of members' works.
