Holly Hurlburt

Holly has lived in Northumberland County since 1972. She and her husband Michael raised their two children near the Village of Hastings.

After her retirement in 2009, Holly began painting with Lucy Manley, whose work she has long admired. She has taken workshops with other Ontario artists, including John Price and Joyce Burkholder, who helped develop her love of landscape painting using oils. Her favourite subjects are rural landscapes and the rocks, lakes and trees of northern Ontario.

Holly is a member of the Pine Ridge and East Central Ontario Art Associations and is grateful for the friendship and expertise of fellow members. She has exhibited her work in numerous club shows and sales, and has participated in the Apple Route Studio Tour and the Mystery of the Park Show and Sale in Algonquin Park. Some of her work is displayed in private collections in Ontario and British Columbia.

Recently Holly has become interested in portrait painting and has experimented with watercolour and pen and ink.
