Donna Barrett

Donna, who was born and raised in Belleville and moved to Peterborough where she raised her family, and has enjoyed painting since 1998. After retiring, Donna moved to Cobourg, where she finds inspiration in the beautiful Northumberland Hills and Lake Ontario.

Donna joined the Pine Ridge Art Association and regularly attends another painting group at The Painted Tree in Cobourg. Her first painting experience in the Peterborough area was with Sisters Lillian and Joyce, Franciscan Nuns who lived independently in their own home.
These Sisters would host a social event, with tea and cookies, each Thursday after work where Donna and others painted with acrylic while enjoying each other's company. The encouragement of the Sisters and their support led to Donna's love of painting.

Many hours of painting at home and taking classes in oil, watercolour and acrylic followed over the years.

Donna's passion for painting continues to grow. She enjoys painting landscapes and animals, as well as whimsical portraits and structures. Other hobbies include dog sports, reading, biking, and best of all, her Grandchildren.
